Mr. Murphy was survived by his son, James P. Murphy of Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ; his sisters, Kathleen Wielgosz of Muncy, PA, Theresa Herrera of Hamilton, NJ, Sharon Hill of Basking Ridge; his brothers, Walter Murphy of Toms River, NJ and John Murphy of Whiting, NJ. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as his many club brothers.
