Born in Garfield, New Jersey Jim lived out most of his adult life in Toms River. James worked mainly in the automotive industry, in multiple mechanic shops and auto parts stores. Before retiring in 2018, he was an Assistant Manager at Norwood Auto Parts in Lakewood, New Jersey.
Jim Schumann was the first person in the room to crack a joke and bring a smile to your face. He was caring, wild, and one of the most genuine people you could ever hope to meet. He loved classic cars, classic rock, and watching football. Jim enjoyed playing his own kind of music on piano, guitar, and drums just for the fun of putting a little tune together. He was always in the kitchen whipping up some new creation with the most sincere love of cooking. His presence is irreplaceable and will be missed immensely.
James is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Jason and Christopher; sister, Tracey Snyder and her husband, Sean Snyder; brother Wayne Schumann; his many distant family members; and his beloved dog, Chandler.
A memorial gathering for James will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755.
