Janice Barbara Drake

Born and raised in Perth Amboy, NJ, she resided in South Amboy and Bayville before moving to Toms River, NJ.

Janice was employed at Morgan Fertility and Reproductive Medicine in Lakewood, NJ as an ultrasound technician. A 1960 graduate of Perth Amboy High School, Janice went on to graduate from nursing school in Manhattan. Along with her mother Emma, she also co-owned and managed the “Our Specialty Bridal Shop” in South Amboy, NJ from 1973-1983. She enjoyed sewing and knitting, cooking and baking, and spending time mostly with her grandchildren.

Janice is predeceased by her parents John and Emma Schubring Kurtz, and her eldest brother John “Sonny” Kurtz, all of Perth Amboy, NJ.

She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Harry Stanley Drake, Jr. of Toms River, NJ; her daughter, Elise Sattilaro of Lawrenceville, NJ; her son, Tony Sattilaro and wife, Karen of South Amboy, NJ; her granddaughter, Rachel Rivera of New York City, NY; and grandson, Vincent Sattilaro; and her brother, Jerry Kurtz and wife, Paula of Toms River, NJ; along with several nieces and nephews.

Janice will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Per Janice’s wishes there will not be any visitation hours or memorial services after her cremation.

A private burial will be held at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
