

Jean C. Hagaman, 81, of Holiday City in Berkeley Township, NJ, passed away on December 25, 2016, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. She was born in Irvington, NJ, and lived in East Orange and Toms River before moving to Berkeley Township in 1998. Jean worked as a teacher’s aide for the Toms River Board of Education for over 25 years. She was a member of the East Dover/Toms River Little League and was the first woman umpire of the East Dover Little League. Jean was one of the founders of the Toms River Girls Softball. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Angels Football, coached freshman cheerleading for Toms River East Pop Warner Cheerleaders, and was a Toms River South Band Parent.
Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband William in 2000, and her grandchild Shannon Gouse. She is survived by her four sons: William Jr. and his wife Diane of Belmar, Daniel of Point Pleasant, Robert W. and his wife Donna of Toms River, and Thomas of Howell; and her two daughters: Debra Symington and her husband Mickey of Beachwood, and Lori Donnelly and her husband Sean of Toms River. She is also survived by her sister Aleda Deck and her husband James of Durham, NC; and her thirteen grandchildren: Jordan, Austin, Mary-Elizabeth, Devin, Ryan, Tyler, Corey, Molly, Amanda, Robert, Courtney, Shane, and Ella; and two great-grandchildren: Cole Michael and Charles.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, from 4 to 8 PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11AM at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations to 21 Plus in Toms River would be appreciated.
