Jeannette, born on July 18, 1937, was a lifelong resident of the Toms River area. She graduated from Toms River High School in 1955 and married Anthony ‘Tony’ J. Roselli that same year. They were married 65 years until his passing in 2020. They raised three children and adored their eight grandchildren and their great-granddaughter.
In addition to being a homemaker, Jeannette worked for many years as a part time administrator for her father’s masonry business. After her father passed way, she became part owner in the business for several years until her retirement. After retirement, she and Tony became ‘snowbirds’ and wintered in the Everglades of Florida for 35 years. They enjoyed boating, fishing, crabbing, clamming, tennis, pickleball, and spending time with family and friends. Jeannette was particularly good at fishing. Though Tony would never admit it, she always caught more fish than he did.
Jeannette was a prolific crafter. She spent her entire life making beautiful things. First, she sewed and decorated cakes. Then she crocheted, knitted, made porcelain dolls and ornaments, quilted, embroidered, cross stitched, wood painted with Tony, watercolor painted, and, most recently, beaded. She perfected every skill and was continuously looking for another craft to learn. She always shared her beautiful creations with family and friends, and she also shared her skills by teaching and mentoring family, friends, and even acquaintances. There is not a loved one who does not have a beautiful quilt, Christmas ornament, or a warm crocheted afghan. Every baby was gifted at least one homemade blanket or quilt and often sweaters and hats. Her love and legacy will live on in the warmth and beauty of her creations.
Predeceased by her husband Anthony J. Roselli, her granddaughter Amanda Rose Resnyk, her parents Charity and John Applegate, her brother William Applegate, and her sister Jane (Applegate) Winton. She is survived by her children Anthony J. Jr (Charlotte), Theresa Roselli Powell (Joe) and Lisa Resnyk.
Siblings: Joan Johnson, Kathie Applegate
She is also survived by seven loving grandchildren: Anthony J. III, Amy, Allison, Christopher (Jess), Kayla, Emily, and Joey as well as her great granddaughter Ava Rose and many loving nieces and nephews.
