

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, he lived for many years in Beachwood and Toms River before moving to Barnegat in 2015.
Jerry served in the military (Army) and received two Purple Heart commendations in connection with his time in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of The Order of the Purple Heart, Disabled Veterans of America, and various Veteran's groups.
He had a lifetime of love for the outdoors and wildlife. He was an avid freshwater and saltwater fisherman. Jerry enjoyed nature hikes, hunting for wild mushrooms and birdwatching as well.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, James H. Taylor, Sr. and Jessie Mae Taylor, of Jacksonville, Florida, as well as two brothers: James H. Taylor, Jr. and Jeffrey Taylor.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, MaryAnne (Discenza) Taylor, and children-
Jerry Simon Taylor, Jr & his wife, Krystal Jones.
Nina (Taylor) Portella & her husband, Christopher.
Angela (Taylor) Arancio & her husband, Marc.
Jerry has five grandchildren: Jade, Anthony, Alexis, AnaSofia and Alina.
Jerry is also survived by siblings: John Taylor & his wife, Carolyn; Jack Taylor & his wife, Kim; Joseph Taylor; Judy Taylor Porter; Jesse Taylor & his wife, Lisa.
Jerry had numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews. He loved them all!
