Born in Passaic, she grew up in Clifton, and moved to Manahawkin in 1996.
She settled in Little Egg Harbor in 2010.
Joan was a telephone operator, beginning her career with Bell Atlantic, and later working for Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin, for over 22 years.
She was a member of St. Theresa RC Church, Little Egg Harbor.
Daughter of the late James and Margery (O'Toole) Blakemore, she is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Lamartine of Tuckerton; her brother, James Blakemore of Clifton; her sister, Charlotte Ruddy and her husband Jeff of Point Pleasant Beach; her nieces, Danielle and Nicole Ruddy; and many friends.
Cremation was private under the care of Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Theresa RC Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor.
