

John Burgio, 97, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born and raised in Carbondale, PA, he lived in North Arlington and retired to Deltona, Florida, moving to Toms River in 1997. John proudly served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a crane operator for over 30 years with Otis Elevator in Harrison, NJ. John enjoyed being part of bowling and softball leagues. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his cherished family and friends.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years, Rosalie D. Burgio in 2008. Surviving are his loving daughters, Carol Ann Burgio-Jordan and her husband Mark, Jo Ann McGinniss and her husband Joseph and Anna Maria Santa and her husband Jerry; his brother Vito Burgio; two sisters Mary Bucca and Louise Drob; six grandchildren, Joneil, Gina Marie, Mark Jr., Melanie, Giovanni and Nicollette; and two great grandchildren Santina and Marissa.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Justin the Martyr Church, 975 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. Please arrive at the funeral home by 8:30 a.m. to follow in procession to church. Cremation will be private.
