John Bowne Doan

John Bowne Doan, 84, of Ardmore, PA, passed away surrounded by his family in the early morning hours of December 25th, 2018. He was born to Franklin and Irene Doan on April 26th, 1934 and spent his youth in Toms River, NJ, before settling in the Philadelphia, PA, area. John is survived by his five children – Lisa, Laura, Monica, John and Allison. As well as his grandchildren, Brandon and Holly. He was an Army veteran and had a lengthy career with Reliance Insurance before enjoying a long retirement. He was an avid skier in the winter and boater in the summer, especially enjoying crabbing on the Rum Runner II. John was a bookworm and could often be found walking the aisles of his local Barnes & Noble. He was a connoisseur of fine food and an expert on every menu on the Main Line. His last day was filled with fun and his favorite Christmas Eve dinner.

Services will be held on January 2nd at 12:00 pm at Christ Episcopal Church, 415 Washington St. Toms River, NJ. John will be buried at the Riverside Cemetery, Toms River, NJ, next to his parents and brother. A luncheon will follow at the church hall.
