John C. McCann

Born in Bronx, NY, Mr. McCann lived in Bergenfield, Palisades Park, and Point Pleasant, NJ prior to settling at his current address. He was employed with the International Brotherhood of Operating Engineers Local 825 and had a successful career as a mechanic right up to his retirement in 2009. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends and family.

John was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Bridget McCann; brother Terry McCann and sister-in-law Jean Marie McCann. Surviving are his daughters, Elizabeth McGuire and her husband, Michael, of Point Pleasant and Jennifer McCann of Barnegat; grandchildren Evan, Erin, Kenzington, Maggie and Aidan; sisters Cathy McCann of Franklin Park and Ann Marie McCann of Midland Park; brothers Frank McCann and his wife, Eileen, of Wyckoff, Tom McCann of Manchester, Michael McCann and his wife, Debbie of Gautier, MS, Kevin McCann of East Brunswick, Dennis McCann and his wife, Ellen, of Manchester; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 5PM at the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 701 Foreman Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742. Cremation was private & entrusted to Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made for the research of Type I Diabetes to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 28 Kennedy Blvd, East Brunswick, NJ 08816-1257
