John J. Sparmo, 90, passed away on February 3rd, 2023. Born in Newark, NJ, he lived much of his life in Toms River until moving to Florida in 2010. John was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the NJ Dept of Environmental Protection as an Enforcement Supervisor.
He was predeceased by his wife, Janet (Kovacs) Sparmo; and his son, John A. Sparmo. He is survived by his children, James (and Carol) and Paul (and Lorene); along with his grandchildren Angela, Jared, Cameron, and Anthony. He also leaves behind his loving partner for the past several years, Barbara Crisanti.
Throughout his lifetime, John had many interests which included cooking, golfing, traveling, and gardening. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A memorial service will be held at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Rt. 37 West, Toms River on Saturday, February 18th, from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, to be followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River.
