John Temperato, of Toms River, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015, just shy of his 80th birthday. John led a good life, a full life, and an accomplished life, and certainly it could not all be contained here, but some of his life is contained herein.Born in Mount Morris, NY, it was here he was raised in his youth, and was a talented high school athlete, during this time he worked on the railroad, when he was not in school. Upon graduation of high school, he attended college at Alfred University, from which he graduated in 1957. Afterwards, he was in the military where he was stationed in Germany. Upon his return to private life, he entered sales and climbed quickly through the corporate ranks working from before sun up to after sunset including most weekends, but always having time for the family Sunday dinner. He ultimately attained the Director of Business Development at the Colgate Palmolive Company. He retired in 1992.If one could narrow John's passion in life down to one perfect day, I would say it was as follows a round of golf, hopefully in the low 80's, a birdie, maybe an eagle in the mix, followed by a family dinner, a robust round of love, barbs, debates, and advice given and received in equal portions. This to be followed by a few hours on the patio watching the day end with a cordial and his family. With John among all other things, family was the center of life. We too will miss this.It is with his passing that he leaves his family in his corporeal form, but the love he left here with; his wife, Colleen; daughter, Julie; son-in-law, Brian; his grandsons, Dan and Dave; his great-grandson, Austin; his son, John and his daughter-in-law, Jackie and granddaughters, Jordyn and Schyler; stepdaughter, Carly, and his granddaughters, Gabriella and Lexi; stepson, Zino his wife Kelly, and his grandsons, Christopher, Mychal and Liam. that will never die, and he will be remembered by many many more.A viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A funeral mass to celebrate John's life will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, March 7 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
