John Charles Wissel, 73, of Beachwood, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. Born in New York City, he lived in Franklin Lakes and Bayonne before moving to Beachwood 45 years ago. John was employed by Island Transportation Corp in Carteret as a Truck Driver and Trainer for 20 years before his retirement. He proudly served in the Army National Guard for 7 years. John enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and boating.
He was predeceased by his parents Ewald and Doris Wissel. Surviving are his devoted wife of 46 years Marsha Gansiorowski Wissel; his children John Wissel of South Toms River and Mary Wissel of Beachwood; and 4 grandchildren Kaylee, Matthew, Marilyn and John Thomas.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate the life of John will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Cremation will be private. Condolences may be made by visiting www.andersonandcampbell.com.
