

Joseph A. Casaletto, 81, of Toms River, passed away January 21, 2012 at Community Medical Center after a long courageous battle with cancer. Joseph was born in New York City. He then moved to Massapequa, Long Island, New York with his wife Jean before moving to Toms River in l961. He was employed by the U.S Government for 45 years. During this time, he had three distinct and rewarding careers. He was an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor for the Air Force, a Quality Assurance Representative for the Defense Contract Administration Service, and a Quality Assurance Manager Supervisor for the Army at Fort Monmouth, retiring in l994. He was a Senior Master Sergeant with the 514th Troop Carrier Wing at McGuire Air Force Base. In 1972 he earned the honor of becoming the New York region Quality Assurance Representative of the year. He also was an Air Force Veteran during the Korean war, and a lifetime member of Elks Lodge 1875 in Toms River. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and bowling. He was an avid sports fan for the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. Prior to his retirement, Joseph and his wife Jean traveled extensively throughout the world. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Toms River.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years Jean De Filippo Casaletto; his loving children Ronald Casaletto and his wife Tracy, Lanoka Harbor, N.J. Valerie Keesser and her husband Robert, Barnegat, N.J., Robert Casaletto and his wife Lisa, Little Egg Harbor, N.J.; and his adored grandchildren, Joseph, Daniel, Jaime, Paul, Jenna, Kyle, and Christopher. Also surviving are three brothers.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Church in Toms River. Entombment will follow at Christ Risen Chapel Mausoleum, St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Lance Armstrong Foundation.
