

Joseph C. Hernandez, 74, of Manchester, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Joseph was born in the Philippines and came to the U.S. in 1972. He lived in Newark and Irvington before moving to Manchester in 2006. Joseph worked for the U.S. Post Office in Jersey City as a postal clerk for 24 years, retiring in 2004. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Toms River. Joseph treasured time spent with his loving family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 48 years, Juanita (Culimay) Hernandez; two daughters, Jocelyn Armstrong and her husband Phillip of Toms River and Jennifer Stanger and her husband Matthew of Sewell; 8 cherished grandchildren, Phillip "PJ", Jonathan, Kiley, Krista, Lauren, Mia, Nate and David; and his sisters and brother, Estella Garcia, Marcosa Rigor, Olympia Bari, Elizabeth Masessa and Diosdado Hernandez.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at St. Joseph's Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River.
