

Josephine Fischer, 94, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Thursday, October 25 surrounded by her loving family at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was born in Bayonne, NJ, and attended Washington High School in Bayonne and John Marshall Business School in Jersey City. She married the love of her life, Fred Fischer, in 1944. After the war, they raised their three children in Glen Rock, NJ and lived there for 33 years before retiring to Toms River in 1984. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River and a member of the Holiday City South Woman's, Italian and Singles Club. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading and crossword puzzles.
During her career, she worked for the U.S. Army, Crompton & Knowles, Corp. and Ozalid Corporation.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred and her brother, Salvatore Pedevillano. She is survived by her children, Glenn Fischer and his wife Michelle Forth Worth, TX, Donna Carroll and her husband Doug of Barnegat, NJ, and Phillip Fischer and his wife Jackie of Henderson, NV, her grandchildren, Heather, Adam, Jennifer, Allison, Kyle, Michael, Scott and Matthew; her great-grandchildren, Elaina, James, Aidan, Lauren, Cameron, Evan, Zachary, Jenna, Andrew, and Zander; and her brother, John Pedevillano of College Park, MD.
Cremation was private at the direction of Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:00 am on December 1 at St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River, and a celebration of her life will follow.
