

Born in Toms River, NJ to Yetta and Norman Simon. Laurie was a graduate of Toms River High School South and a member of the Toms River First Aid Squad. She spent 30 years working for the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, rising to the top position of Principal Inspector. Laurie was a member of Rolling Thunder New Jersey 2, which is an advocate for Veterans rights and Blue Knights NJXI Motorcycle club, which supports Police and First responders. She did many benefits for Autistic Children. Laurie loved her German Shepards Vegas & Ranger. Laurie was an outstanding athlete, and always said she was born before her time. Laurie was predeceased by both her parents and her brother Gary Simon. She leaves behind her husband, Charles Amiano, brother Avrum Glassoff and his wife Joanne; her stepson Matthew Amiano, and her beloved nephews, Sam Glassoff and his wife Kristen, Matthew and Steven Glassoff. Although she was not blessed with children of her own, she treated her stepson and nephews as if they were her own children.
Although Laurie and Charlie went to High School together, they reunited years later for a happy 22-year marriage.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, 12:00 noon, at Congregation B’nai Israel, 1488 Old Freehold Rd, Toms River, NJ.
Interment will follow at B’nai Israel Memorial Park, W. Whitty Road, Toms River.
