Liberata was born November 18, 1934, in Abruzzo, Italy to Maria and Giuseppe Pietroni, and immigrated to the United States in 1955, at the age of 21, passing through New York’s Ellis Island with her family.
Upon her arrival to the United States, Liberata embraced working as a seamstress to assist in supporting her family. Through her work, she became extremely talented at sewing and needlework. She used her skills to not only provide for her family growing up but also to create beautiful garments that adorned her children and loved ones with love and care. Liberata was also an extremely talented cook.
Liberata is survived by her children, son Paul and his wife Sue, daughter Maria, daughter Anna, son Anthony, daughter Linda, and daughter Ellen; six grandchildren Kimberly, Morgan, Megan, Nicholas, Allison, and Aidan, as well as her great-grandchildren Adelynn and Anthony. She is also survived by her sister Antoinette Tumino, her children, and their families.
Liberata was preceded in death by her mother, Maria, and her father, Giuseppe as well as her brother Michael Pietroni, brother Angelo Pietroni, and sister Anna Pietroni.
Liberata leaves behind a loving family, all of whom will forever hold her memory close to their heart. While her physical presence may no longer grace us, the aroma of her pasta dinners and famous meatballs shared in her company will continue to echo in our hearts.
Liberata’s viewing will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River, NJ on Monday, March 18, 2024, 4:00pm-8:00pm, with a prayer service at 7:30pm.
