

Louis was born on July 23, 1924 and lived most of his life in North Bergen where he was the proprietor of Bergen Pork Store for 43 years before retiring in 1987.
Louis is survived by his beloved wife, Justine of 72 years; his six daughters, Rosanne Maggiano of Toms River; Catherine Szymanski of Fairview; Justine O'Grady (John) of Cedar Grove; Maria Richardson (Charles) of Overland Park, KS; Elaine Maggiano-Heflich of Cedar Grove; Theresa Carchia (Anthony) of Cedar Grove; his treasured 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
Louis was a deeply loved and respected man, who was passionate about his family.
He will long be remembered for his sense of humor, his big laugh and his kind spirit.
He loved to sing and teach his favorite songs to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Libera RC Church, West New York, where he was an usher and lector for over sixty years, and also served on their Parish Council.
He was a 3rd and 4th degree member and a Past Grand Knight of Our Lady of Libera Knights of Columbus Council 3630. Louis had a passion for fishing and playing cards with family and friends and was a long time fan of the NY Giants, Knicks and the Yankees.
To celebrate Louis' life, visitation will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and again on Saturday from 9-10am at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 W, Toms River, NJ 08755.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley at 10:30 am Saturday.
A private cremation will follow
