Margaret (Peggy) Eltzholtz Dietrich, 82, of Toms River, loving wife and mother of four children, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 7, 2023. Margaret was born on August 13, 1940 in Montclair, NJ.
Peggy met her husband Al down by the shore at Avon by the Sea. Their love was nothing short of a fairytale. Some may have said it was love at first sight. After their marriage in 1958, Al and Peggy welcomed their four beautiful children Danny, Debbie, Darren and Dougie; who were the light of their world.
Peggy enjoyed a career as a secretary for the Toms River Regional School district. Family and friends were her passion and delight. Her and Al loved hosting and gathering friends and family any chance they had. Whether it was a holiday or just for fun, she loved having the house full of loved ones. During these gatherings you would find Peggy in the center of the room having a laugh or dancing with friends. Her glow and beauty was inside and out that could take your breath away.
Some of Peggy’s most beloved memories are traveling with her best friends Mike and Doris Wherry. They loved spending time at the farm house, where she and Doris could be found driving Tom Landis crazy. They shared many laughs in that house watching their children grow.
Peggy also loved the summer time more than anything. She loved spending time reading Nicholas Sparks in the warm sun or taking the neighborhood kids to Ortley beach. Her most special vacation was spent in Lido Beach, where she met many lifelong friends. In Lido you could find her singing at the piano bar, playing volleyball in the pool or gathering with family for the beautiful sunset.
Peggy was one to brighten a whole room with laughter every Friday night at the Toms River Elks. Her charming and humorous personality will greatly be missed by all. Cheers to the beautiful life of our greatest supporter and biggest fan. We will miss “our girl”.
Peggy is predeceased by her husband Al. Peggy is survived by her four children; Danny and his wife Patty, Debbie and her husband Al, Darren and Dougie and his wife Joyce. Peggy is also survived by her grandchildren; Alex and his wife Amanda, Haylee, Kyle and his fiance Kourtney, John and his wife Vanessa, Corey, Jimmy, Joey, Jackie and her fiancee Max, Travis, Noelle, Amanda, great-grandson Luke and great-granddaughter Isabella.
