Maria Fatima (Lopes) Mimikos, 61, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 23, 2020. She was born to the late Oscar J. Lopes and Maria E. Lopes January 28, 1959, in Matosinhos, Portugal. She came to the U.S. when she was 7 years old and resided in the Bronx, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church. Maria graduated from Harrison High School in 1977 where she was a proud member of the marching band and the French Club, where she was honored an award. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over a decade, after moving to PA, she embarked on a new career at Amazon. Most importantly, Maria was a devoted, tenderhearted, and selfless homemaker.
Maria is survived by her children: Lisa M. Conn & Billy (Spouse), Jessica A. Cerqueira & Hugo (Spouse) and Gus D. Mimikos, Jr., her precious grandchildren: Emily & Cole Conn, Chloe & Leila Cerqueira. She was the loving wife of Gus N. Mimikos, Sr. She treasured our family pets Gizmo, Leo, Julie, Casey, Bernie, Lulu, Jagger & Oke. She is survived by Valdemar Lopes (uncle), Olivia Santos (sister), Tony Lopes (brother), Louis & Paul Santos (nephews) and Michelle Lopes (niece). She is also survived by extended family members: Rich Dudek (former spouse & father of Lisa & Jessica), Lorrie & Butch Dudek; Patricia Makris and Tommy Mimikos.
Maria loved her family, arts & crafts, exploring new destinations, photography, nature & sunsets, reading, ice skating, tennis, music (John Lennon/Beatles & Stevie Nicks), ping pong, mini golf, showering her children and grandchildren with an abundance of love & silliness and…“The beautiful sky that God created."
