Marjorie Ellen Fried

Marjorie Ellen (Johnsen) Fried, 85, of Toms River, NJ passed away September 15th, 2026 surrounded by her two loving children. A memorial service will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ on Sunday, October 4th, 2026, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm, with a prayer service at 3:00 pm.

Marjorie was born in Brooklyn, NY to Danish & Irish German parents Paul & Muriel Johnsen. She was a graduate of Mineola High School and became an Executive Secretary working for General Motors and later in the Insurance industry. Marjorie moved to San Diego, California with family residing for 30 years before returning to the East Coast and settling in New Jersey to again enjoy the change of seasons and be closer to relatives.

Known for her sense of humor and quick wit, Marjorie could light up a room with her ability to bring laughter. She loved music, antiques, and spending time with family, friends, and beloved family dogs. She was predeceased by her husband Rich; her parents Paul & Muriel Johnsen; and her brother Paul Johnsen Jr. She is survived by her daughter and caregiver Jill Koenig; her son, Steven and his wife Victoria Zolezzi; her grandson Steven Jr. and granddaughter Christina; and her many cousins and friends.

Marjorie will be deeply missed by all who knew her; and memories of her will always bring a smile to everyone’s face.
