

It is with great sorrow we announce that Mary Beth (Hanley) Langan, known affectionately as Mary, passed away on February 6, 2024, at the age of 75. She was born on October 17, 1948, in Orange, New Jersey, to her late parents, William and Veronica (Mc Laughlin) Hanley. Mary grew up in Plainfield and attended Union Catholic Regional High School. She moved to Beachwood in 1976, where she lived until her death.
Mary found fulfillment in her career at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Lakehurst, New Jersey. She began her career in 1990 as a Clerk Typist at the Naval Air Engineering Center, Lakehurst, NJ. Within a year, her dedication and competence led to a promotion to the role of Voucher Examiner within the Controller Division, specifically the Cost Accounting Section. Additionally, she served as a Voucher Examiner during the inception of DFAS Accounting Field Services. In 1997, Mary accepted a position in the Accounting Technician field with the Comptroller Cost/Fund Customer Services Branch at the Naval Air Warfare Center. From 2000 until her retirement in 2011, Mary was selected within the Financial Management Analyst Career Ladder field, where she migrated through numerous organizational, financial management, and customer support implementations and deployments. Mary’s journey is a testament to her dedication and professionalism in serving her country through her civilian career.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She dedicated her life to her family and treasured every moment she spent with them. Mary enjoyed hosting the Hanley family Christmas party and summer trips to Maine. As a proud grandmother, she found immense joy in attending her grandchildren's school shows, sporting events, and dance performances, always beaming with pride at their accomplishments. Mary was a great source of wisdom and support for her children and family. She will always be remembered as a caring, sweet, and compassionate presence in their lives.
Surviving are her beloved children, Sean and spouse Michelle of Beachwood, Scott and spouse Brenda of Illinois, Michael and spouse Christy of Forked River, and Mary-Kate Millheiser and her spouse Tim of Alabama. Also surviving are 9 cherished grandchildren: Aubrey, Ashlyn, Delaney, Caden, Makenna, Makenzie, Sophia, Brody, and Blake Langan.
Mary is also survived by her loving siblings William Hanley(Jan), Ellen Morrison Jackson (Roger), Claire Rosanio (Nick), Teresa Ross (Wayne), and James Hanley (Kim), as well as her sisters-in-law Joann Langan and Patricia Hanley. She was adored by her many nieces and nephews, who were blessed to have her as an aunt and who will forever treasure the memories of her kindness and love.
Mary is preceded in death by her dearly loved husband of 51 years, John, older brother Thomas Hanley, and brother-in-law Peter Morrisson.
Mary’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, Toms River, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 16, at 11:00 am at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville,NJ. A committal service will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River.
