Mary McHugh

Mary (DeLuca) McHugh, age 82, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 6, 1942 and moved to Long Island and then to Toms River. She was employed for over 25 years as the confidential secretary to the Sheriff of Ocean County, and retired in 2013.

She was predeceased in 1989 by her loving husband Vincent J. McHugh; her parents, Joseph and Agnes DeLuca of Brooklyn; brother Joseph DeLuca of North Carolina and beloved aunt, Margaret Lynaugh of Brooklyn, NY.

Surviving is her son Kevin McHugh and his girlfriend Angela Ambrose; her daughter Kathleen (McHugh) Higham and her husband Dean Higham and three grandsons, Kyle, Christopher and Daniel Higham who affectionately called her "Grandma Q".

Visitation for friends and family will take place Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River, NJ. A funeral mass to celebrate Mary's life will take place Friday, 12:00 PM at St. Justin the Martyr R.C. Church, 975 Fischer Blvd. Toms River. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River.
