Mary Ellen Murphy

1939-2015

MaryEllen will be remembered for her big laugh, her love of chocolate and her uncanny ability to make everyone feel like family. When she was not spending time with her family & friends you could find her reading, gardening or playing solitaire. She spent the last 53 years with her best friend and husband, Dennis. MaryEllen was the hero to her 8 children and extended family, Raymond (Michelle), Maureen (Steven), Anne (George), Dennis, Rosemary (Michael), Francis, Eileen (Stephen) and Tara. She loved spending time with her 13 grandchildren, Michael, Thomas, Sean, Stephen, Steven, Robert, Brian, George, Matthew, Grace, Kaitlyn, Kevin and Regan. And there were few people she loved more than her baby brother, Francis Flynn.

MaryEllen was proud to be born in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Old Bridge, NJ in 1967. Her and her husband retired to Seaside Park, NJ in 2001 where she lost her battle with cancer on January 6th.

MaryEllen will be remembered on Friday, January 9th from 3-9pm at Anderson & Campbell 703 Main St. Toms River, NJ 08753 with mass on Saturday, January 10th at 10am at St. Catherine of Siena 50 E St. Seaside Park, NJ 08752.
