Mary Lou Salzer, or "Lulu" to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2022. She was born to Frank and Concetta Parson on September 8, 1943. She was raised in Jersey City and attended St. Aloysius high school where she met Frank, her beloved husband of more than 55 years. Lulu worked in Manhattan before their mutual love for the beach brought them to live in Toms River and Seaside Park. She helped Frank through college and law school and then was the office manager for his law practice for many years while raising their children. She thoroughly enjoyed her time living on the ocean and raising her children at the beach.
Lulu was known by all to be a loving, loyal, and compassionate person. Her friends would describe her as exceptionally generous and thoughtful. She made sure that everyone who came to her home was well fed, entertained and made to feel welcome. She was an incredible host and she was extremely proud of her Italian heritage. She spent her time laughing, sharing stories, and taking care of the people she loved. She was an exceptional wife and mother who put her family's needs before her own every day. She will be missed dearly.
Lulu is survived by her husband Frank, children J. Celeste, Rick and Erica, her daughter-in-law Karen, her grandchildren Rex and Ryder, her sister Celeste, her brother-in-law John, sister-in-law Mary Lou, brother-in-law Richard, niece Francesca and countless good and faithful friends she considered family.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Anderson Campbell Funeral Home at 703 Main Street in Toms River on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 4-7pm.
