
Michael A. Allegretti, age 64, of Forked River NJ passed away on Saturday, July 16. Michael was born October 31, 1957 in Washington D.C while his father served in the active military. He spent his childhood years in Dumont, New Jersey before moving with his family to the New Jersey shore. During his younger years Michael was a brilliant artist and loved sports. He graduated Toms River North in 1975 and then enlisted in the Air Force where he was stationed in the UK and New Hampshire. Upon leaving the Air Force, Michael settled in Ocean County, New Jersey.
Michael held various jobs as an auto mechanic, stagehand for ABC studios in New York City and as a first responder for the New Jersey Natural Gas Company. He was a talented, kind hearted and compassionate person who loved his family and friends fiercely and also loved nature, animals, astronomy and held many different interests. He was devoted to his dog Dax whom he loved to bits. Michael always lent his time to anyone in need and will be sorely missed by all who loved him.
Michael is survived by his brother John Allegretti of Ft Lauderdale, Florida, his sister Nora Allegretti of Cliffwood, New Jersey, his nephews Richard Surdez and Stephen Surdez of Forked River, New Jersey, his daughter Lola Sokolov, his grandchildren Kalin Raynis, Jayden Raynis and Cooper Sokolov of Cumberland County New Jersey, his beloved friend of 25 years, Patti Niosi of Forked River, New Jersey and his life long friends Mark and Trish Roland. He is predeceased by his father and mother Silvio and Anna Allegretti and his elder sister Susan Allegretti Surdez.
Services for Michael will be held 4PM-8PM at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River New Jersey, Wednesday, July 20. Burial will be at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey at 10:30 AM on Thursday July 21.
