Michael Hayden Bingham, loving father of three, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 after a brief illness. He was 68. Michael was born on December 28, 1952 in Weehawken, NJ to Hayden and Betty (Monahan) Bingham. He moved to Toms River in 1959 and was a 1970 graduate of Toms River High School. Music was an important part of Michael’s life from a young age. He was an accomplished guitarist/musician, teaching private guitar lessons to students beginning when he was only a teen. He played banjo in the Ocean County String Band in the 1960s, and played guitar with various rock and roll bands in and around New Jersey and the East Coast. He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts where he received a bachelor of fine arts degree in music composing and arranging. Following graduation, he trained as a piano technician at the North Bennet Street School in Boston. He returned to his hometown of Toms River and started a piano tuning and technology business, The Piano Doctor, where he passionately worked until his passing. His proudest achievements in life were his three children, Glen Hayden, Daniel Michael, and Genevieve Celeste. Michael was known for his local guitar performances, his love of family gatherings, canoeing in the Pine Barrens, and a warm inviting spirit. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Betty. He is survived by his father, Hayden, his beloved children Glen (Jaime Strollo), Daniel, and Genevieve (Rob Gooding), his granddaughter Ruby Marie, his sisters, Mary Fisher (Fred) and Diane Bingham, and several nieces and nephew. He will be dearly missed. A celebration of life will be held at Artisan's Restaurant and Brewery in Toms River on Saturday, September 4th from 1pm-4pm.
