Born in Perth Amboy, he lived in Lakewood from 1971 until moving to Toms River.
Mr. Shornock was a Navy Veteran, and worked as a Chemical Operator for many years at Hüls America, Piscataway, for 27 years before retiring in 1995. He enjoyed fishing, and was a fan of doo-wop music.
He is survived by his children, Michael Jr. and his wife Sherry of Westminster, CO, John of Laurence Harbor, Laura Holdren-Martin and her husband Dominick of Brick, and Kenneth and Robert of Toms River; his brothers, Jim of Minnesota and Joseph of Woodbridge; and six grandchildren.
Cremation was private under the direction of Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River.
Interment of cremains, with military honors, will take place on April 11 at 11:00am at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
