Milagros L. Garcia

Milagros L. Garcia, 80, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 27, 2023. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her 4 children and 5 grandchildren as well as a loving, devoted, and supportive wife to her late husband, Dr. Jesus I. Garcia. Mila graduated with a Nursing degree from University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City and practiced in the Philippines until she immigrated to the USA in 1969. Mila then worked in her husband’s medical practice, Dover Park Medical Associates, and was responsible for billing and scheduling. Mila had the brightest smile and the warmest heart. She made sure everyone around her felt welcomed, loved and cared for. While working full time, Mila raised her kids and many nieces and nephews over the years. She loved everyone in her life, but her favorites were her grandkids. When she retired, she spent most of her time with James, Lia, Ethan, Kyan and Mika – making sure they were happy, healthy and fed, watching them hang out together and attending all of their after school activities.

Mila is predeceased by her parents Anastasio V. Lucero and Francisca Caguioa Lucero. Her siblings are Victoria Rojas (Norberto), Aurora Andrada (Nicomedes, deceased), Leticia Castaneda (Fermin, deceased) and Ricardo Lucero (Donna). Mila is survived by her children and grandchildren, Jose Garcia; Jonas Garcia and his son with Casey Garcia, Kyan Garcia; Dr. JoAnn Garcia-Warren and husband Christopher and their children, James Warren and Lia Warren; and Jonathan Garcia and his children with Rania Michail, Ethaniel Garcia and Mika Garcia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Community Medical Center.

A memorial visitation for Milagros will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A memorial funeral mass will occur Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at St. Luke Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ 08755.
