Nancy De Gennaro

Nancy (Davis) De Gennaro, 68, of Whiting, NJ, formerly of Lakewood, passed away suddenly on August 11, 2024. A lifelong NJ resident, she was born in Newark and lived in Bloomfield, Irvington, Middlesex and South Orange before moving to Lakewood. Nancy was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. She worked for many years as the secretary of Riverside Cemetery in Toms River, moving on to become an associate of Uras Monuments in Toms River and Avallone Tax and Financial Services, Brick. Nancy was kind, compassionate, fun-loving person. She loved music and dancing. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. She loved perusing antique shops for tea pots and had quite a collection. Nancy was predeceased by her parents Richard and Barbara Davis. She is survived by her beloved husband Sam of 44 years, her loving children Caterina De Gennaro of Boynton Beach, FL and Frank De Gennaro and wife Kathryn of Pattersonville, NY. Nancy is also survived by her siblings: sister Ruth Di Petrillo and husband Nick, sister Susan Davis-Marsters and husband Craig, brother Jeff Davis and wife Maurica, brother Richard Davis and wife Maria and sister Barbara Machynko and partner Rich Flanagan. Also surviving along with many other family members and devoted friends, are her nieces and nephews; Kelsey Davis, Richie Davis, Nicholas Di Petrillo, Nicole Howanitz and husband Shawn, and Natalie Del Toro and husband Dan. Visitation will be Thursday, August 15th at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River, NJ, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and Friday August 16th from 10:00 AM until the service at 11:00. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
