Norman P. Blake, 85, of the Silver Ridge section of Berkeley Twp. died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Bayville Manor, Bayville. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Toms River, before moving to Silver Ridge Park 22 years ago.
Norman, known as “The Fenceman” Established Norman Blake Fence Company, Toms River in 1958 and operated the business until his retirement in 1986. He was proud to have served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army. He was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church of Toms River and a member of Harmony Lodge #18, F&AM, Toms River.
Norman was a devoted family man. He was a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, golfing and gardening.
He was predeceased by his wife Catherine Blake in 2011 and his son Craig in 2012. Surviving are his children Lance and wife Tessie and Lynn Jackubowski and husband Tom and daughter-in-law Donna Blake. He was also a loving grandfather of five: Jennifer, Kelly, Ryan, Robert and Michael.
Visiting will be held Friday, May 24, 2013, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Ave. Toms River, NJ 08753. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, Building Fund, marked for the Hope Center at the above address.
