Patricia Cahill Bailey

Patricia was proud to have spent her early years in Kearny with her sisters and loving parents. Summers in Island Heights were a cherished part of her childhood, and it wasn’t long before she made the shore town her permanent home, settling there full-time in the early 1960s.

She built a life filled with purpose, community, and adventure. Patricia was a passionate sailor and skier, and she found joy and friendship among the communities of the Toms River Yacht Club, the Island Heights Yacht Club, and Belleayre Mountain, where she was always ready for a day on the slopes and après ski.

Professionally, Patricia had a long and successful career as a realtor with Diane Turton Realtors, where her deep local knowledge, warmth, and integrity earned her the trust and respect of her clients and colleagues alike.

She was a devoted volunteer in the Island Heights community, serving with both the Island Heights Garden Club and the Island Heights Board of Health. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life—she was a daily communicant and a longtime greeter at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, where her welcoming smile and kind spirit were a comfort to all who entered.

Patricia was predeceased by her father James Cahill, her mother and step-father Mildred and Frank Tubridy, her sister Karen, and her longtime partner Bob Hoymark.

She is survived by countless dear friends and relatives, by her sisters Nancy and Mary Jo, and her brother Frank. She leaves behind her sons, Arthur and James, her daughters in law Tracey and Victoria, and her grandchildren: Casey (Scott), Arthur (Chelsea), Ryan (Morgane), Jeffrey, and Everett. Patricia was also a proud great-grandmother to Jackson and Theodore.

She will be remembered for her bright smile, her adventurous heart, and her unwavering love for her family and friends. The many communities she was part of, from the water to the mountains, the garden to the church, will feel her absence deeply, but her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the beauty she brought to the world.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Patricia’s life at a wake on Monday, June 16th, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 17th at 10:00 AM at St. Gertrude’s Roman Catholic Church in Island Heights. All who knew and loved Patty are welcome to attend.
