Born in Somerville in 1941, Patricia grew up in Dunellen. She earned her degree in teaching from Trenton State (The College of New Jersey) and went on to earn a master's in education from Kean University. She devoted 19 years to teaching in the Bridgewater-Raritan School District.
Patricia was a talented artist and a wonderful baker, known for her beautifully decorated cakes. She was also deeply involved in her community, volunteering with the Lavallette Fire Auxiliary and serving as Republican chair for Lavallette.
Patricia was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Hoffman. She is survived by her four children whom she loved deeply: Janet Hoffman and her husband, Joe Herbig; Kathy Winters and her husband, Dave Winters; Erich Hoffman and his wife, Lauren; and Jonathan Hoffman. She was the proud grandmother of David, Jimmy, Annie, Nathan, Ella, and Laina, and great-grandmother of Finley. She is also survived by her three brothers: Edward Rumen - her very best friend, and Robert, and James.
She will be dearly missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with her one true love.
Visitation will take place at Anderson & Campbell on Main Street in Toms River on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 4-7. A service will be held at Funeral Home, on October 3, 2026, at 9:30 am. Burial will be private for the family at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St, Jude's Children's Hospital.
