Peter Vincent Cauterucci

Peter Cauterucci, 66, of Toms River passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Born in Passaic to Mary and Vincent Cauterucci, Peter and his family soon moved to Westfield where Peter attended Holy Trinity Grammar and High School. After living in Florida for a time, he returned to New Jersey, settling in Toms River. You could often find him at the beach fishing, at car races around the country, or listening to live music at one of his favorite venues along the Jersey Shore. Peter loved cooking, trying new food, and enjoying great wine. His bright mind and thoughtful opinions made him sought after for honest advice, and he was always ready to listen. Peter cultivated long lasting friendships wherever he went, staying in touch with many friends from Holy Trinity. Above all, he loved his family. Peter held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, talking and playing with them any chance he could. Peter was a quiet, thoughtful man who always put others first. He was currently employed at Precision Analytical Services in Toms River, N.J, as a lab technician.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Vincent Cauterucci. He is survived by his brother, James Cauterucci and his wife Diana, his brother Frank Cauterucci and his wife Barbara, his brother Richard Cauterucci, his sister Annamarie McCarthy and her husband Joseph, his sister Dolores Talvy and her husband Bruce, his brother Vincent Cauterucci and his wife Catherine, his sister Judith Prior and her husband Stephen, his brother John Cauterucci, his brother Michael Cauterucci and his wife Diane, his sister Mary Godfrey and her husband Paul, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ. Internment will immediately follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter’s memory to Clean Ocean Action (http://www.cleanoceanaction.org), Surfrider Foundation (www.surfrider.org), or another environmental organization.
