He served several parishes during his active ministry; first at Gardiner Church, Gardiner, NY, later at Cherry Hill Reformed Church, River Edge, NJ, and finally at Pinelands Reformed Church, Toms River. After retiring from full time ministry, he was an interim pastor at three parishes, and assisted as a fill-in pastor when necessary. He served as Clerk of Classis of New Brunswick for many years.
Rev. Brunemeyer is survived by his wife, Mary (Carroll) Brunemeyer and their children, Timothy Brunemeyer of Bayville, Thomas Brunemeyer of San Francisco, Diane Marino and her husband James of Hawaii, Mark Kindermann of Hawaii, and Melissa Kindermann-Reichert and her husband Gregory of Hackensack; and his grandchildren, Dylan Kindermann, Meaghan Bogart and Ryan Bogart.
A private cremation was entrusted to Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. While the family would like to host a memorial service immediately, the number of people in attendance would exceed the current restrictions; accordingly, a service will be held as soon as family and friends can safely gather to properly honor Rev. Brunemeyer’s memory.
