AGE: 86 • Toms River

Richard F. Gelato, 86, of Toms River, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Van Dyke Hospice at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Carteret most of his life before moving to Toms River in 2009 and recently to Leisure Park. Richard retired from Budweiser in Newark, and he proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW ll. He loved spending time with his loving family and he will be sadly missed by all.

Richard was predeceased by his wife Kathryn in 1981; two brothers and three sisters. Surviving are his son Michael R. Gelato and his wife Linda; two daughters Linda Panaccione and her husband Ronald and Suzan Mills and her husband Walter; his sister Ann Miller; and his grandchildren Marc, Marcy, Kari, Melissa, Brandon, Kimberly, Blake, and Walter; and his cherished great granddaughters Luciana and Violet.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec 19, 2011, from 6 to 9 p.m. from Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Church in Toms River. Cremation will be private and interment will be at a later date.
