

Richard Charles Williams
May 4, 1937 – November 25, 2023
Richard C. Williams, age 86, of Toms River, NJ went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2023. He was born in Cedar Grove, NJ to the late Charles and Jessie Livingston Williams.
Rich graduated from Verona High School followed by graduating from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and Northeastern Bible College. While at the University of Pennsylvania he was awarded All American goalie soccer player for two straight years. In 1960 Rich and Pat were married and began their lives together as missionaries to Iceland. While serving in Iceland, Rich worked with Icelandic Airlines which afforded them several trips to visit countries in Europe.
Upon returning to America Rich had various ministries, including serving at Rutherford Bible Chapel, teaching English as a second language and teaching elementary school.
He and Pat had a passion for home Bible studies and prayer fellowship and opened their homes in both Rutherford, and Toms River, for over 20 years.
Rich and Pat enjoyed sports together, travelling into the mountains of New York and Pennsylvania and playing table games and cards with the family.
Rich is preceded in death by his brother Donald Williams and sister Ruth Holmes.
He is survived by his beloved wife Pat to whom he was married for 63 years, his two beloved children, Kathryn (Don) Frangipane and Richard Williams. Rich was blessed with three granddaughters, Heather (Don) Baker, Holly (Matthew) Siciliano and Alexandra Williams and three beautiful great grandchildren, Patrick J. Baker, Charley T Siciliano and Everett W. Siciliano.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West. Toms River, N.J. Visitation will be between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 pm with a memorial service at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given in memory of Rich to the “Ese Project” which is a Bible Institute for teaching the Managalasi of Papua New Guinea, founded by his close missionary friend. To support the Bible School make checks payable to:
