Robert Collin Applegate

Born in Mount Holly, raised in Toms River, Bob was a lifelong resident of Toms River. He was employed by Toms River Chemical for 34 Years as Purchasing Manager until his retirement in 1985.

Bob was a graduate of Toms River High School’s class of 1938 and Rider College’s class of 1950. He proudly served with the Army Air Corps during WW II. Bob was a member of Harmony Lodge # 18, F&AM, Toms River, AASR Valley of Central Jersey, Crescent Shriners, and the Ocean County Shrine Club. He was a past board member of the Toms River YMCA, the Toms River Chamber of Commerce, Community Medical Center, and the Toms River County Club.

He was predeceased by his wife Janet in 2003 and his daughter Jill Applegate in 2004. He is survived by his daughter Judie Lissenden and her husband George, two grandsons George and Robert, cousins John A. Ernst, and John J. Lederer, and nieces Linda Robbins and Carole Sheratt.

A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, July 22nd from 2:00 p.m. until the memorial service at 3 :00 p.m. at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River.
