Robert Charles Arnold

Robert Charles Arnold, (“Grumpy Gramps”) (“Bobby”), age 82, of Berkeley Township, NJ, passed away on May 25th, 2018, at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. He was born in Elizabeth, NJ. Robert lived in Elizabeth, then Seaside Heights, until retiring to Toms River in 2002. He then moved to Berkeley Township in 2014. Robert worked for Seaside Heights as Head of Beach and Boardwalk Maintenance for 35+ years, retiring in 2000. He tended bar from the 70’s through 2009 at Good Time Charlies, Jack n Bills, and Spicey’s. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, a member of American Legion Post 129 in Toms River, and the Moose Lodge of Ortley Beach.

Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty Jayne Arnold in 2014. He is survived by his son Kevin Arnold and wife Brooke; his three daughters: Denise Carey and husband James, Patti Genander and husband Brian, and Robin Guardabascio; and his sister Noreen Gattuso. He is also survived by his grand-children: Tiffany, Kyle, Michael, Taylor, Olivia, Joseph, Kasey, Kolby, Bridget, and Matthew.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 PM on Friday, June 1st, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday evening at 7:30 PM. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors, Seaside Heights Chapter.
