Robert Harry Downs, 63, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on May 3, 2016, at Bey Lea Village in Toms River. He was born in Lakehurst, NJ, and grew up in Island Heights, later moving to Toms River. He worked for the Boro of Pine Beach in the maintenance department for over 20 years.
Robert was predeceased by his father Harry O. Downs in 1993. Surviving is his mother Elsie Downs of Toms River; his wife Marite Downs of 22 years; five brothers: Rodney Downs of Whiting, Harry Downs and his wife Pat of Toms River, Brian Downs and his wife Chris of Florida, Ralph Downs and his wife Brenda of Parksville, NY, and Raymond Downs and his wife Colleen of Toms River; and two sisters: Peggy Ottoson and her husband Ernst of Island Heights, and Donna
Spangulo and husband John of Lakewood.
Visiting will be Friday, May 6, from 2-4 and 7-9PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Cremation will be private.
