

Robert James Hamilton, 88, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2018, at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, NJ. He was born in Lakewood, NJ, to the late James and Elizabeth (Johnson) Hamilton. After graduating Toms River High School in 1948, Robert went directly into the Air Force. He was a career man for 21 years, retiring in 1969 as a Senior Master Sergeant. He traveled the world extensively as a Flight Engineer
on C-130 Hercules aircrafts. Robert was a happy, vivacious man that always had a smile on his face. He loved being around people and spread joy wherever he went. Whether he met you at the grocery store or around the world, Robert would brighten your day with his talkative and cheerful demeanor. He will be dearly missed.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, his brother Carlton Hamilton and wife Ruth, and his wife Doris Ruth Hamilton. He is survived by his children: Robin Demers and husband Robert, Kim Paquette, Debra Carbery and husband Michael, and Robert D. Hamilton and wife Julie Renko. He is also survived by his brother David Hamilton and wife Arlene; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grand-children; and his best friend and companion Janet.
Visitation will be Friday, March 2nd, from 4 to 8PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 9AM at St. Joseph RC Church, 685 Hooper Avenue in Toms River. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Robert’s name to your favorite charity.
