Robert B. Hyman

Robert “Bob” Bell Hyman, age 78, passed away on Thursday, February 19th 2026 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. He was born and raised in Kearny, New Jersey, after his parents immigrated to the US from Scotland. He eventually settled in Point Pleasant where he lived for over 25 years.

After Bob graduated from Kearny high school he enlisted in the US Navy, where he spent time in the Mediterranean Sea as a Boatswain Mate on the USS Franklin D Roosevelt. After serving in the Navy, he began a career at NJ Bell, later known as Bell Atlantic/Verizon, where he worked as an Installation and Repair Technician and Coin Technician. During his time there, he met the love of his life, Lorraine. Lorraine and Bob were married for over 30 years, and raised their pride and joy, Sara. Bob, Lorraine and Sara traveled the world often, to see family and explore new places. After retirement Bob kept busy working as “Flagger Bob” for a road safety and traffic control company, being the number one cheer dad attending all of his daughters cheerleading events, and most recently volunteering in the Ocean Medical Center Emergency Department. Bob began every weekday going to the gym and attending “Coffee Club” in the OMC Cafe, where he will be remembered fondly. Bob was an avid Yankee Fan, enjoyed watching Turner Classic Movies, fishing, going to concerts and being a handy man around the house. He was known for his goofy and kind spirit that maintained strong ties to his Scottish family and heritage.

Bob is predeceased by his loving wife Lorraine, mother Helen, father John and sister Deborah. He is survived by his devoted daughter Sara, son in law Doug, brother James and his wife Lynn, his partner Rose, who he shared many happy memories with in recent years and many extended family members and friends.

A visitation will be held at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, located at 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753, on February 25, 2026, from 3:00 pm until the funeral service at 6:30 pm.
