Robert Thomas McCullion

Robert (Bob) McCullion, 68, of Toms River passed away on May 27, 2014 at Community Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Ashland Pennsylvania, Bob and his family lived in Centralia where he attended Mount Carmel Catholic High School before moving to Old Bridge in 1961. Bob graduated from Matawan High School in 1963 and recently attended his 50th Class Reunion. After graduation, Bob entered the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War as a Chaplain’s Assistant.

Following his military experience, Bob enrolled at Seton Hall University, where he was a member of the Veteran’s Fraternity, graduating in 1972 with a BA in Sociology. While at SHU, Bob met Eileen O’Neil. They were married at Seton Hall Chapel in December 1970. Until his death, Bob was a devoted fan of Seton Hall Basketball.

Bob worked for over 30 years for various technology companies including GEAC Publishing Systems as an award –winning Regional Sales Manager. He was a parishioner of Saint Joseph’s Parish. In his free time he enjoyed attending his children’s soccer games and spending time with family and friends at social gatherings. All who knew Bob will remember him as a kind, caring and fun-loving individual with a great sense of humor. Bob’s immediate family will remember him as a loving and devoted husband and father.

Bob was predeceased by his parents James and Ann McCullion and his brother Jimmy. Bob is survived by Eileen, his wife of 43 years, and his children: Kathleen of Sebastopol, CA, and his sons Michael and Timothy both of Toms River. He is also survived by his sisters Jeanne Patrick, Anne Curley, and his brother Joseph McCullion, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 pm and 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River.
