Rosa "Rosie" Marcelli

Rosa (Rosie) Marcelli, nee Caloia, 98, of Berkeley Township, NJ passed away on November 3, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. Rosa was born in Newark, NJ, and resided in Irvington, NJ, before moving to Berkeley Township, NJ in 2004.

Rosa worked various jobs before becoming a school crossing guard for the Newark Police Department then waitressed after retiring from the police department.

Rosa is predeceased by her father Michael Caloia; mother, Angelina; sisters, Phyllis Pugliese, Theresa Angelo, Mary DeMilio; brothers, Thomas and Anthony Caloia.

Rosa is survived by her daughter, Alice Marcelli and her companion, Anthony Morabito; son, Joseph Marcelli; 3 grandchildren, Joseph and his wife, Helen, John and his wife, Sandra, and Anthony and his wife, Christina; also 1 great granddaughter, Samantha; and 3 great grandsons, John, Michael, Anthony Jr.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Rt. 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755 from 10 AM to 12 PM. A burial will follow immediately after the memorial gathering at St. Gertrudes Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia, NJ 07067.
