Ruth Carlene Crabbe

Ruth Carlene Crabbe (nee Bonat), 92, of Hamilton, passed away on January 16, 2026. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Thomas R. Crabbe, parents Victor Paul and Barbara Marie Bonat, and six siblings. Born in Newark NJ, she lived in Irvington, Union and then resided in Toms River before moving to Azalea of Hamilton in June of 2025. As a young woman she was employed by National Union, later staying home to raise her two daughters, and then returning to work in the 1980s at Mulberry Metal Products.

Ruth’s Christian faith was an active and important part of her life. Over the course of her life she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, participating as a greeter and on various teams, delivering meals on wheels, and most recently enjoying her woman’s bible study.

Along with Tom, Ruth loved visiting family and friends, attending grandchildren’s concerts, performances, graduations, and sporting events. Together they shared a love of auto-traveling the United States.

Tom was the love of her life, they met when she was 16 and married at 19. She missed him deeply every day since his passing and often spoke of her longing to be reunited with him. Their love was enduring and remained close to her heart.

Surviving are her two daughters Carlene Reyes and husband Alfredo and Caren Anuszewski and husband Stanley; seven cherished grandchildren Alden Eva, Hayden, Nina, Ian, Hannah and Ethan; her granddaughter-in-law AnneClarke Reyes and future granddaughter-in-law Madeline Courtney; two great-grandchildren Jackson and Kennedy Reyes; and many caring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Ave. Toms River. Burial will follow at Brig.Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Toms River Presbyterian Church in memory of Ruth.
