Ruth Hahneman, 90, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2019, at Community Medical Center in Toms River. She was born April 20, 1929, in Newark, NJ, to Margarita and Nicholas Mueller. She married the love of her life, William R. Hahneman, who preceded her in death in 2000.
Ruth loved to be amongst her family, especially at Christmas time. They were her greatest love and it gave her joy to be part of their lives. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting for everyone and her new interest was diamond art. She liked to bowl, play shuffleboard, and was a member of the Red Hats. Ruth loved being at the beach and enjoyed spending time at her “shore house” which she owned for many years. She worked for many years at Bankers Savings in Perth Amboy, NJ and before that she enjoyed working as a sales person at Pink and Blue.
Ruth is survived by her son Rodger W. Hahneman; her two daughters, Debra Brus and husband Michael, and Donna Piotrowski and husband Bob; and her three sisters, Jean Grinis, Mildred Hettinger, and Marion Weimer. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Michael Brus III and wife Carolyn, Dana Miraglia and husband Michael, Sean Piotrowski and wife Crystal, Kristopher Brus and wife Jennifer, and Corinne Piotrowski and fiancé Charles Gill; and her cherished five great-grandchildren: Alyvia Jane Miraglia, Michael Miraglia, Rebecca Brus, Scotty Brus, and Katelynn Anderson.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 5, 2020, from 3 to 7 PM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ 08753. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM at St. Luke RC Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Old Silverton Road in Toms River. Donations to Juvenile Diabetes would be appreciated.
