Sharon A. Wilber

Sharon A. Wilber, 47, of Island Heights, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune after a valiant fight with cancer. Born in Newark, she lived in Union before moving to Island Heights 18 years ago. Sharon was a longtime employee with the Department of Defense in Springfield and later worked as a receptionist at the Borough of Island of Heights for several years. She was a parishioner and CCD teacher of St. Joseph’s Church in Toms River. Sharon loved the beach and spending time with her cherished family.

She was predeceased by her parents Samuel Reed Jr. and Josephine (Petruzzello) Reed. Surviving are her devoted husband of 18 years Robert P. Wilber Jr.; her loving children Cody and Samantha; a sister Diane Armenti and her husband Mario of Warren; her brother John Reed of Pt. Pleasant; her nieces and nephews Lee Armenti and his wife Victoria, Jennifer Armenti, Samuel Reed and his wife Daniela, Nicholas Armenti, Alexis Reed, John Reed Jr. and Sarah Reed; and great niece Lauren Armenti.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 685 Hooper Ave. Toms River. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Toms River.
