Shirley A. Bush

Shirley Bush, age 89, of Pine Beach, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Shirley was born on December 15, 1925 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Frank and Loretta O’Neil. She was a graduate of Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing and had worked at Norwood Hospital, Norwood, Massachusetts. Shirley and her husband Ralph moved to Pine Beach in 1956. She was a secretary for the Pine Beach Yacht Club for a number of years and was on the Race Committee for 10 years. She was made a Life Member of the Pine Beach Yacht Club by election. She spent many years as a navigator of a 39 foot sloop, sailing Summers on the Chesapeake Bay with her husband and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Ralph Bush in 2001. She is the cherished mother of Wayne Bush and wife Evi, Sue Nelson and husband Andrew, Peter Bush and wife Florence, Debbie Knudsen and husband Bob and Ralph Bush and wife Georgia. She is also survived by her loving sister Caryl Rodina and husband Val; ten grandchildren: Eric, Craig, Larry, Brian, Stacey, Drew, Tom, Peter, Carrie and Nicholas and nine great grandchildren: Kaden, Anna, Andrew, Danny, Erin, Teddy, Josie, Naoki and James and a dear friend Stella Trumble. Visiting will be Saturday, February 21, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ.
