Stella Mary Pyrtek

Stella Mary Pyrtek, a longtime resident of Fords, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2026, at the age of 81 in Toms River, New Jersey. She was a beloved sister, aunt, and friend whose gentle spirit, beautiful voice, and love of life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Stella was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stuart Blond, who passed away in February of this year, and by her father, Andrew Kowalchik, her mother, Irene Iona Lewandowski Szuba and her sister, Andrea Jean Mitchelli.

Stella and Stuart shared a special love of antique automobiles and were avid and longtime members of the Packard Club. Together, they enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts and the simple pleasure of preserving and celebrating the beautiful Packard cars they loved so much.

Stella had a beautiful singing voice and, during her high school years, she sang together with her sister Andrea. She also found great joy in her garden, where she loved to plant, tend, and simply spend time among her flowers.

Stella is survived by her sister, Melanie Szuba; her brother, Matthew Szuba; her nephew, Matthew Donohue; her niece, Jaclyn Jones and many, many loving friends.

Her sister Melanie will especially miss her beloved sister and the countless memories they made together—from singing “My Favorite Things” to driving around in Stella’s little Sprite. These simple, joyful moments are among the memories that will keep Stella close to her heart.

Stella was a beautiful soul who brought music, warmth, and quiet joy into the lives of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
